South Korean entrepreneurs would like to invest here in the City of Golden Friendship. I think if this project is approved in the future, Cagayan de Oro will be the most progressive city in North Mindanao. You would like to know what the Koreans proposed to our city..? They are proposing an impossible but possible project that will happen in our city, the Super Highway from Cagayan de Oro City to Davao City cutting land travel for only two (2) hours, Yes!!!!! You read it right for only two hours of land travel from the City of Golden Friendship to the City of Promise. In this superhighway, they “will pass through a series of bridges and mountain tunnels.
According to Mayor Jaraula, a group of businessmen from South Korea presented to him their plans during the Christmas holiday break.
He said the businessmen ‘though did not mention any project cost hinting that they will proceed with the project if the local government allows them to collect toll fees for 30 years when the project is completed.
Asked whether the project is feasible, Jaraula said the South Korean entrepreneurs must have already made a feasibility study before the presentation of their proposal.
Jaraula also said that he is not aware of whether the South Korean consortium had already approached Davao City officials or the national government regarding this plan.”
Imagine guys our current route from Davao City to Bukidnon highway will take 6 hours of travel by land
This is what Mayor Jaraula say
“Ang proposal sa mga Koreans nga kung naay lawom, himoa’g tulay. Kung naay bukid, bangagan ug himoa’g tunnel. Dili parehas karon nga mag-zigzag ang dalan ug maglikay-likay kung naay bukid,” (the South Korean investors said that they would construct bridges on mountain cliffs and construct tunnels to cross mountains. Unlike today where travelers had to negotiate on zigzag roads as a way of cutting through mountain ridges)”
“If the project comes true, it will certainly benefit Mindanao’s economy considering that movement of people and commodities would be easier and faster,” He added
Wow.. if that were to come true, I’d be really happy.. not just me, I think a lotta people will be really grateful!
yeah, me too, i’ll be happy, and i think that it would be like roller coaster if it would follow the current route from cdo to davao..LOL!
but i am hoping that it would be somewhere straight and something not dizzying…hehehhe
thanks to Mark, for giving me this link! 🙂
Haha. no probs Eileen, by the way read this part : “Ang proposal sa mga Koreans nga kung naay lawom, himoa’g tulay. Kung naay bukid, bangagan ug himoa’g tunnel. Dili parehas karon nga mag-zigzag ang dalan ug maglikay-likay kung naay bukid,” (the South Korean investors said that they would construct bridges on mountain cliffs and construct tunnels to cross mountains. Unlike today where travelers had to negotiate on zigzag roads as a way of cutting through mountain ridges)” So pretty much we’ll have a straight road that would make the travel 2 hours or less.
Yup you right mark..:-)
I really hope this proposal will be approved. Can’t wait! XD
It’s actually a win-win situation for Cagayan de Oro and Davao.
