Siargao Anajawan Island, The Secret Virgin Island

Siargao Anajawan Island

It’s been 3 months already since we visited the secret virgin Island of Siargao. Only a few tourists and travelers discover the beauty of the Anajawan Island of Siargao. It was our second time around to visit Siargao, but this time we stayed at the Anajawan Island of Siargao. It is our first travel as well after the pandemic. On this travel, we celebrating also the birthday of my wife and our daughter. Yes, we celebrated their Birthday at Anajawan Island with close friends.

Siargao Anajawan Island is a small island located in the Siargao Group of Islands in the Philippines. It is known for its clear blue waters, white sandy beaches, and coral reefs, making it a popular destination for swimming, snorkeling, and diving. The island is also home to several small fishing villages, where visitors can experience the local culture and cuisine. As I know, There is only 1 resort on this island where tourists can stay while they explore the surrounding area.

This is the Anajawan BeachFront Resort, owned by a foreigner named David. The island is also an ideal destination for those seeking a quiet and relaxing getaway. Really away from the crowds and busyness of more popular tourist destinations.  It’s a hidden gem that offers a unique experience to those willing to venture out to this lesser-known island. Anajawan Island is considered a great spot to enjoy a tropical paradise.

Cagayan de Oro to Siargao Travel Time

The travel time from Cagayan de Oro to Anajawan Island by land trip can take around 8 to 10 hours, depending on several factors such as traffic, road conditions, and stops along the way.

The journey from Cagayan de Oro to Siargao Island usually involves taking a bus, or private car. After reaching Surigao del Norte province, and then taking a ferry or boat from Surigao to Siargao Island. Once on Siargao Island, it takes about 30 minutes to 1 hour by boat to reach Anajawan Island.

In our case, we left Cagayan de Oro around 11 PM and arrived at Surigao port around 5 AM via private vehicle with only a few stops over along the way then took the ferry going to Dapa port.

From Dapa Port, our tour guide David picked us up and started our Island hopping around 4-5 Islands. After the Island hopping we went to the resort where were we gonna stay for a couple of nights at Anajawan Island Beachfront Resort. The resort is owned by David a foreigner who is our tour guide as well. He is really accommodating to his guests and the good thing about this guy is that he makes his guests comfortable. From Dapa Port, around 1 hour to 1 and a half hours to travel time going to Anajawan Island, the same travel time if you are from General Luna to Anajawan Island.

Beachfront Resort

Our room is really at the beachfront of the resort where at night you can hear the waves and feel the cold air from the beach. The resort is not yet fully developed but it’s ongoing. You can order food from the resort and the good thing about ordering the food is that the owner David and his wife are the ones who cook the food served to their guests. For now, the Anajawan beachfront resort has 2 rooms to accommodate guests but each room can cater to up to 3-4 people.
