Repulse Bay Beach Hong Kong
Our last traveled with friends in Hong Kong was in November 2011 and I made a blog post about Ngong Ping Hong Kong with Giant Buddha which I really like and was amazing at this tourist spot. After 9 months my partner and I together with her sister decided to visit HK again. After 4 or 5 months of preparation for this travel, we planned how to maximize our tour within 4 days. For the second time around we visited Hong Kong, and we have only 3 nights and 4 days to enjoy our vacation in this country. One of the places that we visited in Hong Kong which catch my attention is Repulse Bay Beach; according to the person I talk this Repulse Bay Beach is popular among rich people and is home to the popular artist. One of the most popular artists which live near this beach is Jackie Chan. Yes, he lives near this place and rents a house, not the whole house but only the 4th floor of the house.
A short history of Repulse Bay Beach,
In the year 1841, this bay was used as a base by Pirates using serious concern to foreign merchant ships trading with China. But they were subsequently Repulse by the British fleet and hence the Repulse Bay because of the shallow water. The Bay was called Tsin-Shui Wan or shallow water bay in Chinese. The pronunciation Tsin-Shui has another meaning “A Thousand Years” and it is also called “The Bay of Thousand Year” a symbol of Longevity.
The Japanese occupational forces first landed at this Bay in December 1941 and its Governor renamed this Bay “The Green Seaside Beach” because of the green trees along the side of the beach with fine Golden sand and blue sparkling waters. Since the Second World War, the urban council has contributed a lot improve its amenities, and made this into a beautiful holiday and tourist resort.
Hong Kong (Fragrant Harbor In Chinese) was a finishing village in 1841 and was given this name because it produce Fragrant wood plants for sale abroad and served as a fresh water supply station for ships and vessels going overseas.
Now Repulse Bay Beach is one of the tourist attractions in Hong Kong, what you will see here are Gods which most Chinese believe the history of each Buddha and Gods. The most popular God on this beach is the God of Wealth which they said is a Chinese deity who can bless one with luck, wealth, and economic opportunities. Although worshiped throughout the year, he is especially popular during the Chinese New Year.
