Last September 2012 I was invited to join the water-falling adventure at the City of Majestic waterfalls Iligan city. I’m so excited when they introduce to us that Iligan City has 39 waterfalls and only 23 of these waterfalls are promoted by tourism. No doubt why this city called the City of Majestic Waterfalls. Because of these waterfalls, Iligan City now becomes one of the tourist destinations in the Island of Mindanao. I believed to myself that the people of this city are very lucky because they are blessed by beautiful nature.
After our 4 days of water falling adventure I did not easily get over to the waterfalls that we’ve into. Thinking and asking if Cagayan de Oro has waterfalls that people would like to visit and swim with this wonderful waterfalls.
And YES!!! I would like to say thank you to our mother nature because in spite that Iligan City has 39 waterfalls it gives Cagayan de Oro a waterfalls and that is the Mintugsok Falls which is located at Indahag.
The river trek going to Mintugsok falls is only 45 minutes to 1hour including some rest along the trail. The waterfall is only near to the heart of the city Cagayan de Oro. The travel time from the City proper to the starting point of the trail is only 10-15 minutes with two options of transportations the multi-cab or the Habal-Habal.
What I really like during our trail in this fall is that the paths that we followed are big stones, some are marble stones but there are a trail that needs strength because you need to climb a few big rocks.
I really like big formations of the stones which some of these big stones look like a floor to your house..
Before you will reach the main source of the waterfalls you will pass 2 small falls with nice view in front of it.
