This is our second visit to Simala Shrine in Cebu but this time with our +1 little buddy son and family. On our first visit to Simala Shrine, which is one of the famous sacred churches in Cebu last May 2014, this visit we prayed for Mary’s intervention to give us a child and we promised that we would come back with our baby. In April 2015 our prayer was granted, and my wife delivered a healthy baby boy which we named Immanuel aka Eli.
The church of Simala Shrine is located at Marian Hills, Lindogon Sibongan, Cebu, and 2 hours travel time from Cebu City. Simala Shrine is known for its miraculous place where Virgin Mary cried a long time ago but aside from this, the place is also known for its truly amazing and spectacular landscape.
Inside the Shrine you can see the different statues of the Blessed Virgin Mary from different places and representing the different cultures and replicas from different places/provinces of the Philippines and even replicas of the Virgin Mary from other countries.
During this visit also we noticed that Simala Shrine has big developments around it. A tower structure was made and pathways are already done. The place also has a small pond which is developing and cottages around it are improved. Check some photos that I have taken during our visit to Simala Shrine.
Be sure to wear proper attire when you visit Simala Shrine
