Long Weekend Camiguin Island
Recently, my friends and I had the opportunity to explore the enchanting Camiguin Island during our long vacation. I hope you made the most of your own vacation, especially for those juggling work commitments. As employees, there are limited months in a year when we can truly unwind and that is the reality. This Holy Week of March, grants us a precious four-day break, including the weekend.
Accompanied by our partners, we decided to spend our Holy Week on Camiguin Island for several compelling reasons. Firstly, it was my inaugural visit to this picturesque island. With this, I was brimming with excitement to delve into new experiences and reconnect with our grandparents who reside there.
Secondly, we were eager to partake in the Camiguin Island PANAAD 2008 event, an annual tradition where locals walk around the island as a form of sacrifice. Lastly, we were captivated by the prospect of exploring Camiguin’s diverse attractions, especially since summer was around the corner.
Natural Wonders
Camiguin Island boasts an array of natural wonders, including refreshing springs like Sto. Nino Cold Spring and Ardent Cold Spring, have magnificent mountains, and stunning waterfalls such as Katibawasan Falls and Tuasan Falls. Additionally, we had the chance to visit the island’s ancient church and the surreal Sunken Cemetery situated in the middle of the sea. Not to be missed was the White Island, along with its intriguing Walkway and Runway. These were just a few of the breathtaking spots we explored; Camiguin Island is teeming with other tourist attractions waiting to be discovered.
Moreover, the island features top-notch resorts, including the renowned Highland Resort, popular for its stunning waterfalls, and Paras Resort, an idyllic seaside retreat with a view of the White Island.
For those contemplating a trip to Camiguin Island, the journey from Cagayan de Oro takes approximately 4-5 hours. From Cagayan de Oro, a bus ride to Balingoan takes around 1 hour and 30 minutes to 2 hours. Subsequently, a short 30-minute to 1-hour barge ride from Balingoan transports you to the mesmerizing Camiguin Island, setting the stage for an unforgettable adventure.

Hi there,
Just browsing the net and came across your blog. Me and my partner plans to go to CAmiguin this May 2009, yung punta niyo ba tour package or hindi? If ever panu naging IT and estimated budget niyo? THanks!
Hi @Eana..Thanks for visiting Travels ans Tours, Yong pagpunta namin sa Camiguin last year ay di package yon, we spent 3k-4k individual, so 6k-8k yong gastos naming dalawa kasama na ang accommodation..compare sa ngayong latest na punta namin doon na mura lang ang gastos namin kasi marami kami(8 in the group)..isa sa naka mura namin doon ay we rent a house which is 1500/night with 3 bed rooms, with aircon and TV in 2 nights n 3 days. Bali tag 2300 pesos lang kami including na ang pamasahe namin sa Paras Sea Cat na 800 round trip at yong rent namin sa van for 2 days which is 3500 kasama na ang bayad ng driver..Ask kalang kong meron kapang itatanong..I'm willing to help..:-)

hi ask k lng is it hard to go to camiguin during holyweeks? are there enough ferries to bring us there? thanks
Halo @miswah..sa experience ko mahirap talaga sumakay ng ferry during holyweek madami kasing tao, pero don't worry they have enough ferries to bring all their passenger to Camiguin. Just one tip: go early para ma iwasan nyo ang sisikan sa ferry or the other option is the PARA SEA CAT ferry...It is 2 hours travel only from Cagayan to Camiguin...Thanks for visiting travels and tours..Your CDO GUIDE
