About Travel Ta Bai

I am Ding, and this is my story of how I became a Traveler Blogger

I’ve been in the blogging industry for more than 10 years; if my memory is correct, it’s around 13-15 years already. The path I chose as a blogger/influencer is not easy because of the competition in this industry. So how did I become a blogger for more than a decade, and why do I still love blogging?

Because Of Curiosity, I Became A Blogger

Yes, this is true. My curiosity about blogging started when I saw some of my colleagues creating blogs due to sponsored ads or link buying, which was very popular at that time. Because of this curiosity, I created my first blog and named it “Mixture of All Kinds,” which covered general topics. After three months, I earned from this blog, and with that earning, I purchased my first domain and hosting, which cost around 1,000 pesos per year. This was around 2007 when I created a different niche from the first domain I purchased. Some of the niches I explored from this URL included Showbiz and Celebrities, Games, Science, Electronics, Sports, Travel, and many more, all of which were subdomains. I continued making money from these niches for a couple of years until I focused on one niche, and that was travel.

Being A Travel Blogger Build Me

Around the late quarter of 2007, I started traveling with my ex-girlfriend, who is now my wife :-). We both love to travel, and every month, we had two travel destinations to visit. We also had the same mentality when it came to travel; we loved exploring the Philippines first. With this monthly travel, I decided to purchase the domain “Travel Ta Bai,” which means “travel with a buddy.” Together, we have visited around 60 out of 81 provinces in the Philippines. We also visited five countries as a couple of bloggers.

What are the Benefits I get As A Travel Blogger/Influencer?

Here are some of the benefits of becoming a travel blogger:

  • Help other travelers have a better experience.
  • Have unique travel experiences.
  • Inspire others.
  • Make friends along the way.
  • Get paid to travel and enjoy free travel experiences.
  • Be the author of your trips.
  • Ability to work from anywhere.
  • Experience living in different places.
  • Collect unforgettable memories.

Why I Still Love Blogging?

I have been blogging for around 13-15 years, and you may wonder why I am still doing it.

  • Blogging is already part of my life and routine.
  • It is one of my outlets to release stress from work.
  • It is an investment for me.
  • It allows me to revisit my memories when I can no longer travel.
  • I earn from blogging.
  • I inspire my audience as a blogger and influencer.
  • I want to improve my writing skills.
  • I am building my brand as an influencer.
  • I want to discover more and express myself.
  • Most importantly, I want to document our travel experiences.

What Do I Get in Blogging?

This is a big question I ask myself: Why am I still blogging? But I realized that because of blogging:

  • I have made new friends.
  • I have developed my skills in online marketing.
  • I can share my knowledge and experiences with new bloggers.
  • Someday, I can share our travel experiences with our children.

Being a travel blogger/influencer is not easy, especially when you have a daily job to complete as well. Blogging or becoming an influencer is a passion; it’s not just about seeing someone succeed and wanting to follow in their footsteps.

Aside from visiting tourist destinations in the Philippines, we also love to eat and experience different Filipino foods across the country. The Travel Ta Bai site also shares travel tips and tourist destination guides to make travel easier for others.

We also want kids to experience what we have experienced. We want them to see how beautiful the Philippines is and to take pride in our country’s tourist destinations and attractions.
