This is Olongapo City surrounded by big mountains with big green trees. Olongapo City is located at the Southern entry point of Zambales and the Northwestern interior of the Subic Bay area which is also a highly urbanized city. This is our home for the next 3 months because my wife was temporarily assigned here. I’m excited and sad, excited because I can now explore Olongapo City and see its real beauty. Sad because I will miss my home town Cagayan de Oro.
The city’s population speaks a wide variety of the country’s main languages, specifically: Tagalog, Kapampangan, Ilocano, Sambal, Cebuano, and the modernized language called Taglish (Tagalog and English).
The first time I stepped into this city I told myself that I would be back to explore the City. A few months after the dream came true. After 2 weeks of stay, I didn’t have a chance to explore the City yet. So, I tried to research what places or tourist attractions we could visit and explore.
As for now, I have 2 places in the City of Olongapo that I would like to take pictures of, Marikit Park and the place where you see lots of yachts. I observed also that people in this City are very disciplined when it comes to cleanliness. Every public place, there is a quote that I read “Bawal ang Tamad sa Olongapo”.
