Planning to visit Bacolod city the capital of Negros Occidental province of the Philippines next month for the Masskara festival for my next travel destination, if this could happen this is my first time in Bacolod. The 2012 Masskara Festival will be celebrating the 33rd edition of the world-famous festival of the smiling masks. During the annual celebration of the festival hundreds of dancers dressed in a colorful costume-wearing their smiling masks and dance with the beats of the drum in the street. If you did not know, the Masskara festival was started on 1980 during the period of crisis, and for everybody knows the word “mass” means MANY and the word “Cara” means FACE.
These are the reasons why I would like to visit Bacolod City and of course I would like to taste their best food in town including the street foods and exotic foods that they have. They said also that every October during the festival the city’s public plaza is brought alive into a huge beer garden. If my travel destination next month will be granted or not I’m still searching for cheap hotels for my accommodation during the festival on where can I stay.
I start making my itinerary also to maximize my days of stay in Bacolod City during the Masskara Festival. I have 3 tourist spots in my lists and that’s includes
- The Ruins which is located at Talisay City – this mansion was made early in 1900’s by the sugar baron, Don Mariano Ledesma Lacson (1865-1948).
- Negros Capitol Lagoon and Park – I would like to visit this place and to see the creation of the Italian sculpture Francesco Riccardo Monti which is the woman standing alongside a water buffalo.
- Pala Pala Market in Bacolod – Of course the food trip is very important that’s why this place is on my list to visit. I heard that this place is the perfect place for seafood lovers.
Great, Here is a suggestion where you can stay when you will visit maskara festival this year. A budget hotel where you will be very satisfy without spending that much. I tried it and very impressive. 🙂
