Last week, we had an incredible weekend filled with adventure. Our day included White Water Rafting in CDO, a Canopy Walk, and a Zipline. Amazingly, we packed all these activities into just one day! We planned this outing a month in advance to ensure everything went smoothly.
On January 24, 2009, a Saturday, our adventure began. Our first activity was White Water Rafting on an advanced course. While it wasn’t my first time, five out of the eight in our group were experiencing it for the first time, including three guests from Manila. It was a perfect time for rafting since the flash floods in Cagayan de Oro had recently subsided. We split into two rafts, each with four members and three guides, making seven people per raft. Despite my familiarity with rafting, I felt excited for my friends who were trying it for the first time.
As we navigated the river, I noticed some changes. New rapids had formed due to the flash floods, while some old ones had disappeared. The landscape along the river had also changed; once forested parts were now replaced by large stones.
Rafting Experienced
Returning to our adventure, it was an exhilarating experience and a memorable one for this year. The advanced course featured 16 rapids, each with a unique name. Some of the rapids I remember are Captain My Captain, Christ Drop, Surprise, and Karabao Back. The river’s rapids were more intense and adventurous than before. Each of us paid 1000 pesos for this thrilling experience.
After rafting, our guests were eager for more adventure, so we headed to Macahambus Park. There, we enjoyed a Canopy Walk and a Zipline for just 250 pesos. Our next adventure is planned for MOAP.
This is the time to experience the rapids of the water in our first adventure in White Water Rafting. And also our pictures at Macahambus Adventure Park.
